Hey Indies! In this class... I'll be teaching you how to make a custom Illusion corset for your client. The purpose of this class is to develop your sewing skills in bridal and bespoke so that you can create designs for clients of any size!

About the event
In this class you'll learn :
- Specialist materials and tools used for corsetry
- Taking accurate measurements for corsetry
- how to drape a custom pattern & adding seam allowance
- Creating a toile (mock-up) to check the fit
- How to get the perfect fit
- How to make fit changes to your pattern
- How to prepare coutil (specialty corsetry fabric)
- How to accurately cut out a corset
- Stitching neat boning channels
- How to handle and use boning
- How to sew loop back closure or grommets
- Attaching and finishing the binding of a corset
- How to lace up a corset
Supplies Needed:Â
You will need a mannequin size of your choice and bust cup size of your choice. REMEMBER that every clients body is different so this will be a great time to try something new!
- Corset Mesh
- Fashion Fabric of your choice for Boning Covers and Loops
- Rigilene Boning ( 1/2 or 1/4 width )
- Bra Cups and Underwire ( you can use a store-bought bra or buy the supplies separately )
- Grommets and Grommet Maker
- Interfacing
- Underwire Tape or Trim ( you can also create you own by making your own bias tape)
